Fast Pass Glasgow currently provides manual driving tuition directly and receives learner enquiries from different areas and for different types of tuition.

Where an enquiry cannot be covered directly, Fast Pass may contact a suitable instructor who has previously registered interest.

This page is an invitation to register interest. It is not:

a guaranteed job offer;
a franchise offer;
a promise of pupils;
a promise of minimum income;
a promise of regular enquiries;

Who can register interest?

Fast Pass is interested in hearing from:

fully qualified approved driving instructors;
trainee driving instructors holding a valid trainee licence;
manual instructors;
automatic instructors;
independent instructors;
instructors already working with another school where their agreement permits this;
instructors with current pupil availability;
instructors who may have availability later; and
professional instructors interested in future local opportunities.

Anyone accepting payment for car-driving tuition must be legally authorised to do so.

Qualified ADIs

A fully qualified approved driving instructor should have current registration and display the appropriate green certificate while providing paid tuition.

Fast Pass may ask for information such as:

your ADI number;
registration status;
registration-expiry date;
areas covered;
transmission type;
vehicle details;
test centres covered;
lesson types offered;
availability; and
relevant experience.

Trainee driving instructors

Fast Pass may also hear from trainee instructors who hold a valid trainee licence.

A trainee licence is not the same as full ADI qualification. A trainee should:

hold a current licence permitting paid tuition;
display the correct pink trainee licence;
comply with all conditions attached to the licence;
continue the required training;
be honest with learners about trainee status; and
avoid presenting themselves as fully qualified before registration.

Registering interest with Fast Pass does not provide or replace the training, sponsorship, supervision or management arrangements required by DVSA.

Manual and automatic instructors

Fast Pass directly provides manual tuition, but automatic learner enquiries may also arise.

Instructors can register whether they teach:

manual only;
automatic only; or
both, where appropriately equipped and insured.

State the transmission type clearly in your email.

Registering as an automatic instructor does not mean that an immediate automatic enquiry is available.

Only list areas you can cover reliably without creating excessive travel or disrupting existing pupils.

Test centres covered

Tell Fast Pass which practical-test centres you regularly cover.

This may include:

Anniesland;
Baillieston;
Bishopbriggs; and
other centres you genuinely serve.

Do not list a test centre merely because you would be willing to travel there once. State where you can provide reliable preparation and test-day support.

Types of learner enquiry

Potential enquiries may include:

complete beginners;
learners with previous experience;
weekly lessons;
more intensive tuition;
nervous learners;
learners returning after a break;
test preparation;
learners who have previously failed;
short-notice test enquiries;
refresher lessons;
motorway lessons; and
manual or automatic requests.

You are not expected to accept every type of enquiry. State clearly which pupils and lesson types suit your experience and diary.

How learner enquiries may work

A learner contacts Fast Pass.
Fast Pass reviews their postcode, availability and tuition requirement.
Direct Fast Pass availability is checked.
Where direct coverage is not available, Fast Pass may contact a relevant instructor.
The instructor decides whether the enquiry suits them.
The learner may be introduced or asked to contact the instructor.
The instructor and learner confirm prices, availability and lesson arrangements.

Fast Pass does not currently operate an automatic lead-allocation or instant-booking system.

No guarantee of enquiries

Enquiry volume can vary by:

area;
season;
transmission type;
test-centre demand;
learner availability;
lesson price;
competition;
website traffic;
conversion rate; and
the instructor’s own availability.

Fast Pass does not guarantee:

a minimum number of leads;
that a lead will become a paying pupil;
that a pupil will remain for a particular period;
that enquiries will be evenly distributed;
that your preferred area will generate demand; or
that registering interest will generate any work.

No exclusive territories at present

Fast Pass is not currently offering exclusive postcode or test-centre territories through this page.

Registering an area means that Fast Pass may record that you are interested in suitable enquiries there.

It does not prevent:

Fast Pass teaching learners in that area;
another instructor registering the same area;
a learner choosing another instructor;
Fast Pass changing how enquiries are handled; or
future commercial arrangements being discussed separately.

Employment and self-employment

This page does not itself create an employment relationship.

An instructor may operate as:

a self-employed independent instructor;
an instructor working under a separately agreed arrangement;
a trainee under an appropriate training and management structure; or
another lawful business arrangement agreed in writing.

Employment status, tax, insurance, control, payment and responsibilities would need to be considered separately before any formal working arrangement begins.

Professional standards expected

Fast Pass is interested in instructors who demonstrate:

safe and legal tuition;
reliable attendance;
clear communication;
respectful learner-centred teaching;
honest pricing;
professional conduct;
a suitable tuition vehicle;
appropriate insurance;
secure handling of learner information;
realistic test-readiness decisions;
appropriate boundaries; and
willingness to resolve concerns professionally.

Tuition vehicle information

Include:

make and model;
manual or automatic;
fuel type;
dual-control details;
number of doors;
approximate age;
whether it is used for practical tests;
whether replacement-car cover exists; and
anything affecting learner suitability.

The instructor remains responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is legal, roadworthy and properly insured for paid tuition.

Availability information

Explain:

the days you normally work;
your earliest and latest lesson times;
whether you work weekends;
whether you currently have regular spaces;
whether availability is immediate or future;
whether you offer one-hour or two-hour lessons;
whether you offer intensive tuition;
whether you accept short-notice test enquiries; and
whether availability changes each week.

Do not describe yourself as available where your diary is already full.

Your prices and policies

Independent instructors set their own lawful prices and terms.

Fast Pass may need to know:

hourly price;
lesson durations;
block-booking options;
test-day charges;
cancellation policy;
payment methods;
refund terms;
pick-up restrictions; and
any additional travel charges.

Your prices do not need to match Fast Pass direct manual tuition unless a separate arrangement states otherwise.

Short-notice test enquiries

State whether you are willing to consider learners with tests booked within two weeks.

You should still be able to:

assess the learner before agreeing to provide your car;
confirm their licence and test details;
identify whether enough preparation time remains;
decline where the driving is unsafe;
explain your test-day terms; and
avoid allowing urgency to override safety.

Learner information and privacy

Information shared for an enquiry should be limited to what is genuinely required, such as:

name;
contact details;
postcode;
transmission requirement;
availability;
experience;
theory-test status; and
practical-test details.

Any instructor receiving learner information is responsible for handling it lawfully, securely and only for the relevant enquiry.
